Almost Done With All The Budapest Picts....

This was our first night in Budapest. We stayed on a street that was something like the Budapest "Broadway" and this guy on the park bench was some guy who had a lot to do with Hungary's "musical" genre.

MMMMM ---- Kurtosckolacz.... Its name means chimney bread. Its this bread that is rolled in a spiral on this round pole, flattened and then cooked over a coal fire. They then roll it in anything from choclate to cinnamon (the cinnamon is the best!). They had these stands all over the Christmas market and there would be lines like 30 people deep. Its SO delicious!!!!
Mom and Melissa at Corvinus University .... my "home" when I'm at BHHP.
With Stalin
Our apartment building where we stayed.
In the market at the meat stands looking for our spare ribs for our American dinner :)
PAPRIKA!
The market
Dinner the first night at Spoon restaurant in a boat on the Danube.
Our apartment. This huge mirror was amazing. Its an antique and used to be a door. Too cool!
The Advent "calendar" in the Christmas market. Every evening, it has musical carol that it plays and theres this light show and then the day number falls to reveal an advent picture underneath.
This stuff is amazing as well -- langos. Its this fried bread that puffs up and you can put different toppings on it. The popular one is sour cream and cheese and its so wrong :)

  1. I once again hate to correct, but that statue is of Marx, not Stalin . . . just saying
