Small Postings - Christmas In Budapest

I decided to try and start posting the Budapest Christmas pictures that I hadn't had a chance to before. Its the nice thing about getting stuck in one place for a day:)

I'm going to do little chunks so I can try and get it all posted.

This was the day we went up to Castle Hill. It was a gorgeous sunny day, but it was absolutley frigid! The first picts here are at the gates up on the Hill by the Palace. You can see all the bullet holes in walls from the 1956 12 Day Revolution. Its pretty amazing to see these holes in buildings all over the city.

This is the palace with all the Hungarian flags flying in front of it.
There are "ancient ruins" in the front of the palace that they're still working on excavating.
Looking down on the Danube and the Parliament building. We're on the hilly Buda side looking over to the flat Pest side.
Looking across to St Stephens - near where we stayed.
Looking back at the Palace

The Fisherman's Bastillion up by the Basilica

In the evening, we went back across over by Heroes Square and had dinner at a nice restaurant by the big city park.
Sunday afternoon lunch at Hemingway's Restaurant - with Flora.
At the Operhouse for The Nutcracker Suite
In our box seats at the Opera. We got tickets the day before and got this box to ourselves for $10 each person!
In the lobby of the Marriott - the morning we left.

One of these days, I'm going to see Europe. In the mean time, your pictures will do just fine - thanks!
