Please Don't Wake Me..

We're in a super duper long and boring Infection Control Webinar today.  It's got some good info but these speakers are snooze a paloozas!  The one we're on now has a super southern drawl.  That's what's keeping me awake - just enjoying the drawl!

This is me when the webinar started....

This is me an hour after it started...

Ok - it's an actor playing me...  Her name is Curly Murphree and she was lost under a bed at my house so now she's awaiting transport back to her home.  Couldn't just leave her sitting bored at my desk!  I wanted her to suffer too!:)

So one thing I'm putting out there for you all to take into consideration.... 50% of antibiotic use is inappropriate.  Meaning - your dr might just prescribe an antibiotic to get you off his back and if you take it, you could actually be doing more harm then good!  You're helping to create super viruses because they become resistant to drugs.  Same with anti microbial soaps.  They just kill things that learn to breed other things that learn to become immune and create more problems.

That's my free hand down!  Enjoy and use wisely!:).

Oh - and just have to post our first great grandbaby... First one is my nephew and Harper...

And then there's Harper herself looking super excited!  I think this is her opinion of Infection Control webinars...:)

People I Like

This weekend/week has been full of people that surround me and are faithful to me and help make me a better person because they remind of good and God and things that He wants me to be!

We got back from the wedding and my friend Karlene and her family were passing through on their way home and stopped to see me and meet my awesome Sean!  What a treat to see them and all their kids and to just spend time catching up and reminiscing about good old days!

And speaking of my awesome Sean... What a great weekend traveling, exploring and celebrating!  Times spent together that make me love him more!

Still thankful for good times and good people that God has put in my life!  Especially certain special people!:)

One Done!

Wedding season has begun!  It was Joe and Hannah's wedding this weekend!  Ohio was our destination.  Mom and Pat and Randy left on Thursday and Sean and I left on Friday.  The wedding was Saturday.  A good ceremony at their church.

And then we had about two hours to get over to the reception.

It was a great time to be with family and friends and friends/family:). Among them was new baby Harper!  The first great grandbaby!

It was actually an awesome wedding and party!  We stayed until late and danced about every dance possible including a Macedonian wedding dance (Hannah's family were missionaries in Macedonia).  It was a great wedding and great party and a great time with everyone that I love!

I can't believe our little Joe is married!!!!:)

Now 6 more weddings to go?!

Where's The Wedding?!

This weekend we're in Ohio for my nephews wedding.  A lot of the family is here and a lot of friends.

This morning Sean, who has also joined us in our festivities, went out and thought he found the festivities....
But alas, no wedding party was to be found!

But coming back to the hotel we found a few members!

And now we're off to celebrate!!!!!!

Success And Reward

My trip down to Asheville to help Yvonne find a wedding dress - SUCCESSFUL!  The day before we went dress shopping I was encouraged by her fiancĂ© Rob to "get Yvonne to pick out a dress this weekend!"  It seems to have worked although I admit she's faltering a little due to her runner up dress.... KEEP THE DRESS YVONNE!  It really does look beautiful on her!

So the work being done Sunday morning we stayed up until about 3 am talking so we decided to sleep in and then play on Sunday afternoon.  And the better part of the deal was my nephew Riley got to come down for the afternoon and join the fun!

We ate brunch downtown Asheville at this little Mexican place that was really good and pretty cute.

Yes that's us being cute at Limones's...

We then took a little stroll around downtown Asheville as Riley had never been.  Asheville is this great quasi Portland city that melds classy southern with grunge hippy and then throws in the outdoors!  It's artsy yet classy and mountainy!

We strolled around just being goofy...

And then tried to take a ride on a mountain bike built for two!

The garages of North Carolina....

And going all Asheville!

We then decided to go to the Grove Park Inn which is fabulously beautiful!  It's right in the mountains and it's very lodgy but resorty with an amazing view!  I've been here in the winter when they have their national gingerbread house competition.  Ages like 3 to adults can compete and they have literally hundreds of gingerbread houses all of the Grove Park!

We decided to stroll around the grounds over to this artist community on the other side of the hotel.  With so many gorgeous photo locations - the three camera unshy musketeers stopped at every opportunity.

We walked down to the art community but Yvonne wouldn't let me use my GPS... So we ended up taking the long grassy way there...

Where we continued with more glamour shots...

We went back up to the lodge and sat on the overlook to have a drink and an artisan cheese platter.  And then we actually looked at a room just for honeymoon reference.  Beautiful room!  Beautiful view!  Very friendly staff!

To end the day, we took the Blue Ridge Parkway home to enjoy the sun setting in the mountains!

What an amazing day!
What an amazing weekend!

Weddings!

This year is one wedding after another!  I think I have 7 people in my life who either have announced wedding plans or have a date set!

One friend of old in Asheville is getting married in July so I came down for the weekend to help her hunt for a wedding dress!

The first place we had an appointment at was called "Budget Bridal"... The name says it all!

To be fair, she later clarified that these garage dresses were going to be donated for "dead babies."  We felt much better....
What?....

We looked at some fabulous dresses that we really liked...

CAMOFLAGE?!!!!!! (Is that even how that word is spelled?  I don't know...)

A very very interesting experience with a very bossy lady who sold used wedding dresses - that's my take away!

And then we hit David Bridal where..
WE FOUND THE DRESS!!!!!!

A great day with some great gals!

Egg Time!

Happy belated Easter!

This weekend we not only got to celebrate Jesus' death and resurrection!  We got to do it with family too!

My cousins from Kanakakee came with their little (and big but not BIG) girls and we got to celebrate kid style!  Mom was so in Easter egg heaven!  Oh and she was elated to see Lisa and the fam!

And then the big day!  We had almost 20 people over to Pats, had a ham the size of an actual pig, and then got to Easter egg hunt!  That bunny was pretty tricky in his egg hiding spots!

Happy Easter!
